Belfast Zoo is situated on a breath-taking 55 acre site with panoramic views over Belfast Lough. This modern zoo acts as a safe haven for more than 140 species animal that are in danger.

Around 300,000 people visit every year.

It ranks as one of the finest and most attractive zoos in the British Isles; it is a zoo with a collection of growing conservation value, it has a sound reputation for breeding and managing a wide range of species, and it plays a valuable role in the community of Northern Ireland.

Be sure to see the primate trail, gorilla and chimpanzee enclosures, free-flight aviary, elephant and giraffe house and underwater viewing of penguins and sea-lions.

New exhibits include the opening of the rainforest exhibit providing visitors with an immersive environment that combines tropical plants with climatic sensitive animals such as Jasmine, the two toed Sloth.

Onsite facilities include a restaurant, snack bar, 'Zoovenir Shop', children's playground, and designated picnic areas. Free car parking is widely available.

I love the zoo its great fun!     There were lots of giraffes and my favourite animals are giraffes! I CANNOT wait until the next time i go to the zoo! :)

the zoo is lovely place to see animals pityy about the ingornat staff who wouldnt help me find my 5yr old daughter whom i found in the park by herself crying after being lost for an hour and a half disgrace!

since when did you have to be over 18 to get into the zoo ? i know two people who traveled from dungannon both almost 18 boyfriend and girlfriend  but because they were not over 18 nor had a person over 18 with them they were not aloud into the zoo what a waste and a shame say's alot for the zoo and tourisum peter
